VACANCIES AT BRIGHTON DOME & FESTIVAL

Event Manager

Salary: £21k pa

Full time hours (averaging 37 per week)

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s premier performing arts festivals and venues.

You will be an experienced and enthusiastic Event Manager who will help to  deliver events taking place in the Brighton Dome Concert Hall, Corn Exchange and the Pavilion Theatre.

The successful candidate will have a background in Event Production and/or Management and a sympathy to the workings of a busy venue combined with excellent organisational and customer care abilities.

Knowledge of event and building Health and Safety, Stewarding & Security, Microsoft Office programmes, good numeracy and a calm and flexible demeanour are essential.   Experience of liquor and security licensing desirable.

Brighton Dome hosts events 7 days a week and the successful candidate will be expected to work shifts which span daytime, evening and weekend periods in line with our business activity.

Technician

We are seeking an experienced technician to join the busy production department with experience in a similar role within a multi purpose arts and conference venue.  You will have proven technical skills in conventional and moving light maintenance and programming, sound, rigging, stage management and/or audio-visual.

Able to work calmly and effectively with a wide range of people, including artists, visiting production staff and conference organisers, you will have a flexible attitude and ability to handle several diverse projects at once.  You will be able to  meet deadlines whilst working under pressure and ensure that the highest standards of presentation and efficiency are achieved.

Membership Ambassadors (Volunteers)

Brighton Dome & Festival Ltd has just launched a new Membership programme which offers great savings and special access to artists and performances throughout the year.

We are looking for 15 volunteers to act as Membership Ambassadors to encourage audiences to join the new scheme and answer new member queries.

  • Ambassadors will be interacting with the pre-show crowds and during intervals at events. 
  • You will also be involved with promoting and advertising our exclusive new Membership Scheme to audience members and providing them with information and access to the registration system.
  • Ideally you will be outgoing and friendly with the confidence to approach members of the public.
  • Previous experience in a promotional role and an interest in the Arts and live entertainment would be useful. Full training will be provided.
  • A rota will be drawn up for specific shifts for targeted events at which Ambassadors will be present.
  • The average shift will last for three hours from 6.00 – 9.00 pm. Ideally Ambassadors would have a minimum of two shifts per month.
  • Owing to licensing laws and health and safety legislation this opportunity is currently only available to over 18’s.
